Terms of Service

What we provide

Numen provides numerology and astrology readings composed live from your birth data. The reading is a contemplative and educational instrument designed to support self-reflection and personal growth.

Payment and refunds

Payments made on the web are processed by Stripe. Payments made inside the iOS app are processed by Apple · see “App Store purchases” below. Prices are listed in US dollars unless otherwise noted.

Our refund policy by tier:

  • The Reading: full refund or redo within 14 days of purchase. Submit a request via the redo/refund form. On refund, your reading URL is deactivated and you no longer have access.
  • Western, Chinese, and Both Woven Astrology: full refund or redo within 14 days, same terms as The Reading.
  • Pay-it-forward: non-refundable, as the contribution has already been allocated to a gifted recipient.
  • The Palm, The Year, The Mirror, and The Conversation are not yet available for purchase. Their refund terms will be published when each launches; until then, no purchase of these tiers can occur.

For all tiers, we offer a redo as the first option. Most concerns can be addressed by regenerating the reading with a specific focus you tell us about. If a redo doesn’t resolve your concern, the refund is yours without question within the windows above.

App Store purchases (iOS)

Purchases made inside the iOS app are also subject to Apple’s standard end-user license agreement and Apple’s Media Services terms. Apple handles the billing relationship · we do not see your card details or your Apple ID.

Because Apple owns the iOS payment rail, we cannot issue an iOS-side refund ourselves. You request a refund from Apple directly (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions and Purchases, or reportaproblem.apple.com) and Apple decides. What we can do · and do · is honor the spirit of our 14-day refund-or-redo promise: if you write to us about an iOS purchase, we will gladly offer a free redo with a different focus, and when Apple asks our opinion on your refund (via App Store Server Notifications V2 “consumption request”), we offer no objection. We do not penalize iOS buyers for using Apple’s refund path.

After a refund · the permanent URL

When a refund is granted, whether on the web (Stripe) or on iOS (Apple), the permanent URL for that reading begins returning a 410 (the page-gone status) and the reading is no longer readable. We keep the cache row internally as an audit trail of what was composed and when, so we can answer questions later if you write to us · but read access is closed.

Account deletion

If you have created a Numen account, you can delete it at any time. In the iOS app, the in-app account-deletion control removes your account end-to-end (this is Apple’s Guideline 5.1.1(v) requirement, and we honor it from day one). On the web, the same control is available on your account page. Account deletion removes your personal data: account row, notes, bookmarks, journal entries, companions, preferences, stored Apple refresh token, and the card-and-transaction identifiers tied to your past purchases.

One thing intentionally persists after account deletion: the anonymous, hash-based URL where each of your purchased readings lives. The hash is derived only from the inputs you gave us · not from your account. We leave that URL working on purpose so that a reading you gifted to a friend, or a bookmark someone else saved, continues to resolve. The audit row stays for the same reason. If you want the reading itself made unreachable, write to us and we will revoke the URL.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the birth data you provide. We compose the reading from the data you give us. Inaccurate birth dates or names will produce an inaccurate reading.

Intellectual property

The Numen service, the Master Prompt, the deterministic numerology engine, and the visual design are the intellectual property of the operator. The text of your individual reading is yours to keep and share. The lineages of the nine traditions belong to their cultural and historical practitioners; we are stewards of their teachings, not owners.

Acceptable use

Do not use Numen to generate readings for the purpose of harassment, fraud, or harm to any person. Do not attempt to access the service through automation or scraping.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Numen and its operator are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for your reading.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.
